How much food waste do I create?

If you are unsure as to how much food waste that you are generating, we have provided a guide of bin sizes below and what size Garbage Guzzler would be suitable. You should remember that in many cases, health and safety best practice would mean that food waste bins are collected or emptied when they are not full (in some cases they might only be half full), so it is worth checking this.

This might mean that although you are having a high number of bins collected, the actual amount of food waste being produced might be less than you would think. As part of our service, we will undertake a site survey to ensure that we gain a full understanding of the amount of waste you are generating, and to ensure that we specify the right machine for your needs.

Installation and Setup Process

We will work with you throughout the entire process of specifying, delivering and installing your Garbage Guzzler.

Site Survey and Waste Audit

This includes a no obligation site survey to audit your food waste, which will help us to ensure that we specify a suitable machine for your requirements, identify a space for the Garbage Guzzler to be located and to discuss the provision of the correct services required to power the unit.

Installation

We will undertake the delivery, installation and setup of your machine. We will also provide a training session for your staff to ensure that you are set up to use the Garbage Guzzler correctly. We also offer comprehensive technical support once you are up and running. Set up usually takes two days, to give us a chance to come back and check that the Garbage Guzzler is working as it should after we get it up and running.

Remote Diagnostics

A remote diagnostics package can be supplied with the Garbage Guzzler (subject to suitable connectivity services being available).

This service alerts our technical support department to any alarms that have been triggered on the Garbage Guzzler, helping us to quickly identify any operational issues and fix them before they turn into anything more serious.

If you would like this as part of your Garbage Guzzler, please let us know!

Enzymes

Enzymes are used inside the Garbage Guzzler to speed up the digestion process. These do not become active until they reach a temperature of 55 degrees inside the machine.   The enzymes rarely (if ever) need replacing inside the Garbage Guzzler, and for this reason there is no need to keep a stock of them at your site. Even if the machine is switched off for a few days, as long as there is an amount of digestate inside the unit, the enzymes will reactivate once they are heated.

Completely Safe

The enzymes are not harmful to touch, and will not cause a hazard should any of the digesting material inside the Garbage Guzzler spill outside the unit for any reason.
